“One thousand five hundred.” Liza’s reply was quiet, her head bowed. She was close to tears.
“What was you doing carrying that amount”
“I needed it to pay for my holiday. It needs to be paid tomorrow. I went to the bank on Saturday morning and withdrew it, ended up meeting Cindy and went out for a drink. Ended up an all dayer. Woke up on Sunday and the money was gone.”
“What you going to do now.”
“I’d be willing to do anything to get the holiday paid. Anything!”
