By no stretch can the Satyricon be considered the first erotic work. It can't even be considered an erotic work. For one thing, the work only exists in fragments; for another thing, the Satyricon contains some bawdy tales and homosexual adventures, but no erotica. And there is a big difference between pornography and erotica. The difference can be seen in the words themselves. Pornography stems from the word that literally means writing about harlots; whereas erotica comes from the Greek goddess Eros--the goddess of erotic love. The main difference between pornography and erotica lies in the fact that erotica contains an element of sexual love that pornography lacks.

1. It doesn`t matter if there are only fragments now. Because once it was complete and it is the endless time and human mistakes why some parts got lost.
2. When we talk about the written word there is no objective difference between pornography, which is mainly considered as pictures and drawings, and erotica. Else opinion is only based for a subjective and very own understanding of erotica. ;) Proofed by your strange definition of "sexual love".
3. Why we erotica as a name is based on Eros has its reason in the so-called renaissance, when the people rediscovering life instead of the fucking church. Later in 19th century there was a second renaissance and the educated people took a intense look in the old roman and greek cultures. so all that stuff about giving names is pretty modern.

Excuse me, but I'm not going to get into another fucking argument over your smart-ass remarks. So this is the last post I'm making on this particular subject, and I'm putting you on my ignore list so I don't have to read the crap you write. It's clear to me that you have some kind of fixation on what I write. If you keep it up, I'm going to report you, and the result will be that you will be banned from SSP. If you don't believe me, go ahead and keep up your attacks on what I write.

Excuse me, but I'm not going to get into another fucking argument over your smart-ass remarks.A wise choice lies in your words not getting an argument startet. :icon223: I almost fell from my chair by laughing. After I have myself again let me explain something . . .
You - yeah, YOU - have a crush on one single book which is regarded by you as a religion. But that is your choice and your own opinion that nobody wants you to change. The problem we have is your stupid attitude to understand every single word against your opinion as a personal attack. It seems you not even have balls to think just one single moment about what I have written. It is you starting a fight for nothing. Everbody can read how you are flipping out by nothing but objective meanings. Just like a little kid who`s missing its sweeties. If your always so harsh it`s hard to believe you`re an adult. So do yourself a favour and start behaving like an adult. Open your eyes and read carefully what I said how it was meant to be.
I was not offensive to you and I didn`t attack you as person. You think I am a smart-ass; who cares? I take it as a compliment, because as long you won`t accept historical facts I AM smarter than you. But in the same time you are threatening me with bann just because you are feeling hurt without any reason. Do you even recognize how cheap that is? How degrading that is to yourself? Come on, calm down and get yourself in line again! I have no problem with you and I don`t want an argument. But if you want a confrontation - just opening this thread is provocative and you knew that - I am able to give you back in every way.
