I SHOULD be giving the girls the best time I can, as surgery looms--but this frikking weather...even Georgina doesn't want to be close, and when cats are affected like that, yeah, you KNOW the weather sucks bigtime.
Might have to shave her coat down so she's more comfortable, gonna call the Vet, get some proper advice first.

I know Georgina well enough, and she me, that so long as I don't try chewing off her ears, she'll trust me with anything. I spent 10 days syringe feeding her as a tiny baby kitten, and I think she remembers that, she certainly doesn't respond to me the way cats normally do to their owners.
I never taught her to come when called--but she does, every time. She'll happily join me in the shower if I leave the door open, she could care less about the 'rain' as I'm there. I give her baths, and she's completely fine with it...keep in mind that such happens while she's in the shower, as why not??
No more than 4 times a year, though, bad for th skin I was told. Water-soaked is one thing, but shampoo and such, only 4 times a year, if needed.

But, I'm concerned about how delicate a cat's skin can be, as the fur protects it a great deal, so that's why I'll check first, but if special clippers or such are needed, I know a good groomer.

it is also not good to use too cool water to wash them as a wet cat loses heat rapidly I know there are grooming devices but not sure if they have it in canada as the store that has them sells them because they are infomercial items

I always use body-temp water, when it's a genuine planned bath...otherwise, shower-temp when she decides to hang around. In all cases, she gets dried off quick afterwards.
One weird cat, but I've heard of stranger, so I just approach it all with a *shrug*.
Gonna leave it up the groomers, she's got the right tools that protect against nicks and such.

Vesta's learning that she can approach us on her own and find herself welcomed, little by little, at her own pace.
When we went to go see the kittens, she was in the corner of the box, excluded, and looking quite unhappy. She's the smallest, the 'runt' and the only female in the litter.
The others noted me, but ignored me, busy playing, fighting, wrestling, and she made her hesitant way over to my hand.
She chose me, not vice-versa. :-D The look in those sad little blue eyes...if cats could cry tears, she would have been I don't doubt.
Now, she has Georgina as an adoptive Mom, and a Monsterdog next door who's as enamored of her as the rest of us, and a houseful of people to watch over her, keep her safe and give her all the love she wants.
