I sometimes sit in front of this screen,
Wondering if life is all a dream
A nightmare at times me thinks
When really bad pushes you to the brink
Why is it that some can be so cruel too?
Inflicting pain on people like you
Males and females they don’t seem to care
Anytime they can and any where.
Okay I am romantically inclined
Taking at face value those friends I find
I don’t get mad or peeved
I’m used to hurt; My heart’s on my sleeve
What pains me the most and when I was young
It was something I often to me had done
That someone special you felt from the start
Would turn around and break your heart
How I wish I could go back in time to see
To any of my lovers that were maybe hurt by me
Just to see how I had got it wrong
Perhaps they were better once I had gone
The thought that I have perpetrated
The one thing that I have really hated
Thankfully I now have more experience
And pick my friends and lovers with more common sense!
